Clown_KaitlinPhillipsGoodey[2]It is not every day the circus comes to town, but it will be setting up its tent in Stunningly Strange Gallery in time for the Edmonds Art Walk. Owner and artist Kaitlin Phillips Goodey will be unveiling her new circus inspired installment of her own on-going show called The Family Strange. The opening reception will be May 16, 2013 from 5-8pm.

The whimsical and playful characters Phillips Goodey creates fit comfortably with the circus culture. “I love all the unique and bizarre characters that put their stories on display for others to see,” says Phillips Goodey regarding her circus inspiration. “They could be ashamed or shy, but they own who they are and that is very inspiring.”

Phillips Goodey recently earned her Master of Fine Arts from Washington State University and was previously trained in photography at the Art Institute of Seattle where she earned her Bachelor in Fine Art.

Phillips Goodey has shown in the Washington State University Museum of Art, CUB Gallery, Gallery II, Reidenbach Gallery, Art Not Terminal, Twilight Artist Collective, Gallery III, Tasty Delectable Collectables and internationally at Dollirium Art Doll Emporium along with showing her work at Seattle art fairs and the Fremont market.
